How to use a UPI QR code in a shop

For shop counters, the most practical QR is usually a static UPI QR without an amount. The shopkeeper tells the final bill amount, the customer scans the printed QR, enters the amount in their UPI app, checks the payee name, and approves the payment.

Use a clear shop name

The payee name should be recognizable so customers can verify they are paying the right shop.

Print at usable size

Test the QR after printing. Keep the code clean, high contrast, and away from folds or glare.

Check payment status

Confirm payment in your UPI app or bank app before handing over goods when needed.

When does a shop need a payment gateway?

A simple QR generator is enough for many small collection workflows. A verified merchant account or payment gateway is better when you need settlement reports, order reconciliation, refunds, customer receipts, fraud controls, or automatic payment status callbacks.

UPI QR Codes does not process payments, confirm settlement, or connect to your bank account.
